Who we are?

The Southern Provincial Road Development Authority (SPRDA) is dedicated to the maintenance, improvement, and development of the Provincial Road Network, including Class C and D roads. We are responsible for the planning, designing, and construction of new provincial roads, bridges, and related infrastructure, all aimed at enhancing connectivity and supporting economic growth in the Southern Province.

In addition to our core focus on road and bridge development, SPRDA offers a wide range of essential services:

  • Road Maintenance & Rehabilitation

    Ensuring the safety and durability of the existing road network through regular upkeep and comprehensive rehabilitation projects.

  • Infrastructure Improvement

    Upgrading and expanding provincial roads, bridges, and related structures to meet growing transportation needs.

  • Construction Projects

    Managing and executing key infrastructure projects that drive regional development.

  • Material Testing Services

    Through our advanced Material Testing Laboratories, we provide concrete, soil, asphalt, pavement, and bitumen testing to ensure top-tier quality control for construction projects.

  • Mechanical Workshop

    Our fully-equipped Mechanical Workshop in Udukawa, Matara, provides expert repair and servicing of vehicles and heavy machinery crucial for road development. The workshop also offers a wide range of machinery and equipment rentals, including backhoe loaders, tipper trucks, motor graders, road rollers, and more.
